The documentary Australia’s dowry deaths is produced by Al Jazeera. Journalist Naomi Slevaratnam did research with significant input from Dr Manjula O’Connor. Dr O’Connor’s input was based on her action research with the Indian and South As community , her extensive , clinical experience on gender based violence in the same community , and dowry abuse. Her work through ACHRH around community based primary prevention workshops added further insights. Manjula’s contacts were valuable in the production of the documentary. The documentary has been viewed by more than 800K people worldwide and has had significant impact.
