Commonwealth Government’s Department of Social Services funded program MCR supports Australian Government‘s policy of Multiculturalism. Migrants are encouraged to integrate combining their own cultural values and beliefs, ideas with that of their adopted country Australia. MCR helps to  create a strong hybrid identity for participants. Volunteers are trained to facilitate interactive  workshops where scenarios are presented to encourage discussion around different expectations, attitudes and values. 600 migrants have already participated in 12 Workshops.

Evaluation revealed a very high acceptance of the workshops and MCR Evaluation Report was launched in 2016.   READ REPORT HERE:   https://www.achrh.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/EVALUATION-REPORT-MCR.pdf

Great opportunity to share values. Gave me an understanding of how the Indian culture is different from Australian culture and how we can help new migrants to bridge the gap.
